As part of Eyezone’s initiative to spread awareness on children’s vision health, an eye screening event is set to kick-off on the 24-26 March in the 2nd phase of The Avenues Mall, Kuwait. The campaign is part of a comprehensive vision care programme dedicated to conducting primary eye screening for children.
A recent study reports that “half the world will be short-sighted by 2050 with up to one-fifth of them (1 billion) at a significantly increased risk of blindness if current trends continue”.
Eyezone is currently working on developing awareness campaigns for children’s eyesight with the guidance of Global Vision Institute, in collaboration with Al-Bahar Eye Centre, Kuwait and the Ministry of Health Kuwait (MOH).
Eye care professionals will conduct the screening in the phase two of the mall. The campaign also aims at guiding parents on how to safeguard their child’s vision health, as well as, informing them if their child is in need of follow-up eye exams.
The event is being supported by Zain Kuwait, Boubyan Bank, International Optique and AlSayer Holding.
