Every 20th of November, the United Nations promotes international togetherness in spreading awareness among children worldwide and improving children’s welfare with the Universal Children’s Day. Celebrated since 1990, it is the date the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959, as well as, the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989.
This year’s Universal Children’s Day theme is #KidsTakeOver, wherein various organizations worldwide gear up to mobilize communities to advocate for children’s rights. UNICEF has taken up the lead to invite children across the globe to get involved in campaigns supporting their vulnerable peers.
Our Children’s Vision has likewise taken a stand together with children around the world to encourage and help them raise their voice for the disadvantaged amongst them, with a keen focus on the vision health of those who are most vulnerable and hardest to reach.
